What's New: July Update

We've shipped 0.23

This is a brand-new version marking a significant leap in AI capabilities and a crucial starting point for AFFiNE's transition to an AI knowledge base product. Multimodal AI knowledge bases will become the fundamental form of future knowledge base products, and AFFiNE's entry point will also be adjusted accordingly to achieve a tighter integration of writing and AI.

1. AFFiNE Intelligence

This is likely the most significant recent update: AFFiNE Intelligence has officially launched. In the age of artificial intelligence, notebooks are being endowed with more capabilities and purposes, and allowing AI to step in from the initial stage of note creation might be a more ideal choice. Currently, AFFiNE Intelligence supports two types of tools: documents and code. Users simply need to convey their ideas to the AI to receive various forms of assistance, including search, content refinement, and even document creation. Leveraging the most advanced models, this feature is expected to bring a significant transformation to your writing workflow.

2. Comment

We've finished our first iteration of comments. In cloud workspace, you can select text and blocks and attach comments to them. You can also attach images and mention others in comments. Roles of editor and above can add and moderate comments.

Comments relevant to you will be notified through your inbox. You may adjust email policies in Settings-Notification

3. Self-host

Upon Monday’s release, the new desktop client will only support self-hosted versions ≥ 0.23.0—this is an incompatible change, so please upgrade if issues arise.

4. iOS and Android Released

AFFiNE is now available in both iOS and Google Play.
