0.21 AI Chat Panel:

• Now, you can use tags or collections in the AI chat panel to provide more contextual information to the AI! AI will automatically read the context content and then provide you with more suggestions or ideas based on the context!

• Indeed, besides AFFiNE's content, you can also upload pdf, docx, or standard programming files to AFFiNE AI. It can extract the PDF or word document's contents, granting you better access to related content.

• Of course, we have also optimized some details. You can now see the backlinks document information here.

0.21 Notification Iteration one

We've introduced a minimally viable notification system, and some use cases for it, namely, invitation and mention.

• You may invoke member mention by @ users in the same workspace, they will receive a notification

• Users with existing account can be invited using links, in addition to existing email method, and crucial steps will be reflected in notification system as well.

• That applies to selfhost systems as well, update to the latest 0.21 version, generate new users and distribute password reset links can through your-instance-domain/admin/accounts. you can then finish the invitation loop without setting up the email server.

0.21 AI Record Block

A new experimental feature, AI meeting recording.

• After enabling it, AFFiNE will prompt you to start recording whenever a meeting begins in another app. Once you confirm, the recording will begin. Then, AI will transcribe the speech into text, allowing AFFiNE AI to summarize the meeting, pull out memos, or identify action items for you.

0.21 Edgeless Alignment

• Now, the new Edgeless alignment is more user-friendly in terms of UI and interaction, making the arrangement of elements more convenient. At the same time, we have added some alignment logic to facilitate a better alignment experience for elements of different sizes and types in Edgeless.

0.21 Database

• The database has added two properties, attachment and member. Now you can upload attachments within 100MB to your database. Additionally, you can @mention your colleagues or perform more detailed personnel management through the new Member property.

0.21 Iframe Embed Block

We've introduced a new block — iframe embed block, which can be used to display some websites that support embed. You can view and interact with multiple types of content in one place, enabling more flexible content management and collaboration.

• Currently supported websites include: Google Drive, Google Docs, Spotify, Miro, and Excalidraw.

0.21 Readwise Highlight Import integration

Per community request, we've rolled out integration with Readwise to import highlights and notes into markdown-formatted docs into AFFiNE.

• The infrastructure should also work for other content-import integrations such as Zotero, OneNote and so on. A dev-facing guide on how to use our new client-based API to import and update doc in the current workspace will follow soon. Contact us if you are interested in providing help

Web clipper

• We are also cooking a web clipper based on Obsidian's opensource project (kudos)

• It's not published yet, but you may find it in the integration menu later.

  • We have added new features and optimized the interface of the current admin panel.

  • Settings: Updated the settings content.

  • AI: Added AI functionality, but it remains disabled for now.

  • Sidebar: Displays the current version information and upgrade prompts.

  • Account Management: Added disable, enable, import, and export functions.
